EMMY
My fall from grace was one for the books. All it took was his word against mine for everything to topple.
Liar. Slut. Snitch. Now, I wear my shame like a scarlet letter pinned to my chest.
People say I ruined his life.
Except, he’s the one who irrevocably broke me—my heart, my body, my soul…my will to live.

STERLING
Like a little coward, she thinks the span of five states is enough to keep her safe.
But I know where she is and I’m going to make her pay.
She ruined my best friend’s life. Now…I’m going to ruin her.
One by one, I’ll spill her secrets, until she has nowhere left to turn—except to me, her very own big, bad wolf.

★⋆★NOW LIVE: DIRTY LITTLE SECRET★⋆★

A new adult older brother's best friend/second chance romance.

LK Farlow (A.K.A Kate) is a small town girl with a love for words. She’s been writing stories for as long she can remember. A Southern girl through and through, Kate resides in beautiful, sunny LA—that’s Lower Alabama, y’all—with her amazing husband and four rambunctious children. When she’s not writing, you can find her snuggled up on the couch watching car shows while she crochets or with her nose in a book.

An emotional roller coaster of a ride!

An emotional roller coaster of a ride!
I’m not sure how I came across Sweet Little Nothing as this was my first book by LK Farlow—but man am I happy I did!!! LK has a way with writing that totally pulls you in as a reader and makes you fall hopelessly in love with her characters—and this book definitelyhooked me from the very beginning.Needless to say, Sterling and Emmy’s tragic battle of a love story ruthlessly broke my heart—and then painstakingly helped put it back together. As you’ll soon find out, Emmy is trying to escape/rebuild her life from a past filled with so much pain and heartbreak it’s left her all alone and questioning everyone around her. Slowly, with the help of her tenacious roommate Stella, Emmy is finally able to start finding herself and come out of her shadow…until suddenly she encounters someone from her past that brings it all back, her step-brother Rob’s best friend, and her one time crush, Sterling. Sterling, thinking he’s doing the right thing and being a true friend to Rob, sets out on a mission to ruthlessly make Emmy’s life hell and utterly destroy her…while really he’s an unknowing accomplice of even more trauma for Emmy.As their story unfolds, you can’t help but cry for Emmy as your heart breaks right along with hers as she suffers and endures untold pain and heartache, and cheer for her strength and resilience. While I was happy when Sterling FINALLY came to his senses and realized the truth, the conversion did occur rather abruptly, but overall it was an amazing read!

Emmy came to Central Valley in eastern Georgia to get away from Texas. Her home and family are a reminder of the evil that happened to her. Her stepbrother, Rob, tortured and was cruel to her from the day they met and he raped her when she got high school. And when she reported it, no one supported her or was on her side. If anything, it turned her from the popular cheerleader into the pariah of the school and her family. Her gold digger mother chose her comfort over her daughter's safety.

So she comes to Central Valley with hope for a better future and with the shadow of her past haunting her.

Things start out full of promise when she meets her new suite mate, Stella and runs (literally) into Gabe while she is exploring campus. She finds herself with three new buds; Stella, Gabe, and his boyfriend, Zach. And so far almost everyone has been so nice.

Except that shadow haunting her? It becomes personified by someone she did not expect to see. And he is determined to punish her for her lies and deception that ruined his best friend's life. Sterling is her worst nightmare invading her new future. And to make it even worse? He's her TA for a class she has to have for her degree. And he sets his sites on destroying her as soon as he sees her.

With Stella, Gabe, and Zach's encouragement, she keeps trying to move forward on her new path but Sterling is determined to disrupt that journey as much as he can.

As a child, she saw him as a white knight. But he has shown himself to be the devil.

But as Sterling tries to break her, he finds himself starting to see not only the cracks in his life long best friend, but also starts to see that perhaps he was wrong about Emmy. He certainly is finding it hard to deny his attraction to her. Or hers to him, although she isn't quite sure she can trust anything from him.

He may have planned to exact revenge for is bestie, but he finds himself realizing that he believed the wrong party. He finds himself trying to fix things, after he set the ball rolling to ruin her life, because he has the blinders ripped from his eyes and realizes his 'friend' is a lying sociopath.

This book as the thread of optimism that runs through everything LK writes. But it also has darkness before the light. Sterling redeems himself as he comes to the realization that he was wrong. As he starts to regret hurting Emmy and tries to course correct for the error of his ways.

This books has the feels, the heat, the humor, the hope, a little drama, the bad guys getting what is coming to them, and two people finding each other for a very happily ever after! Oh and three new friends who give us a little lightness in the dark. Can't wait for Stella's book!!

I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This was a good college bully book, one with heartbreaking content. I was glad that the H came to see the error of his ways as early as he did, and tried to make up for it, because the re-victimization of the h, it was horrible to go through with her. On that point, I wish that more would have been done as far as atonement goes, with both the H, and all of her family, I felt like it was just kind of mentioned in passing, so we didn't actually get to see justice done as it should have been. I enjoyed the side characters and can't wait to get to their stories as well. The audiobook was also very well done.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this book as bully romances are not really my favorite. I was instantly sucked in and could not put this book down. Emmy has a very troubled past and moves away to start fresh in college. She did not expect to run into Sterling, who is her step-brothers best friend. Sterling is out to make Emmy pay for ruining his best friend. He thrives on making her miserable and does everything in his power to destroy her. In order for him to do that, he gains her trust but was surprised when he learned the truth about what happened. From that point on, LK Farlow does a great job in redeeming Sterling. Although their relationship is contentious, Sterling ends up being Emmy’s champion. Fortunately for Emmy, she great friends who would do anything to support her in her quest for happiness and peace. This is an extremely emotional story which is beautifully written. It touches on topics that are very sensitive, and LK Farlow has done a wonderful job of dealing with these issues. Emmy and Sterling will steal a piece of your heart. I highly recommend Sweet Little Nothing. You will definitely not be disappointed. I am so looking forward to more in this series.

Felt very high school to me, rather than the adult plot author was trying to include. I did still find it entertaining and enjoyed most parts of the book.

Are You Ready?
Your not!

Emmy wasn't ready to be bullied, forgotten, left scared with no one to defend her not even her mother.

Emmy was ready to escape to start over to find her future to begin again!

Sterling, he thought he was ready! Defending his best friend was the game flush out the liar and destroy her the same way she destroyed Rob. But Sterling isn't sure, he knows something is off. He knows Rob is off, and Emmy well he knows Emmy to and he gets the feeling her fear is all to real.

Rob he thinks he's got it handle, he's ready for a fight.

Will this game of cat and mouse have a happy ending? The only way to know is to indulge in this amazing story. LK Farlow has written a stunningly beautiful dark romance. With just the right amount of comic relief amazing, supporting characters and wait till you all meet the daddies and Emmy's best friend Stella.

There is some sensitive subject matter present in the book but it is handled with great care. This alone makes me love it even more.
I absolutely loved this story and can't wait to recommend it.

I have voluntarily left this review.💜🐁

I’ve been on a roll with angsty new adult college romances lately, and this one was icing on the cake! I recommend this one if you want to hurt before the characters get their happily ever after. This is one of those books that, while you love the hero and the heroine, you also can’t help but love the side characters. In this book, Gabe, Zach, and Stella are fabulous characters, and I’m ecstatic that Stella will be getting her own book in the series.

LK Farlow is a new to me author, and after finishing this review, I'll be running off to check out the rest of her books 😁

⚠️ Mentions of r*pe, suicide, PTSD, mental health, bullying

This book didn't hold back. I read it in one sitting, unable to put it down. It hooked me in from the first page, and didn't let up. It was well written and drew out a lot of emotions.

I loved Sterling and Emmy and the side characters. I do wish there could have been some resolution with the parents, but besides that, I very much enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Little Nothing - Sterling and Emmy's story
Reviewed in Australia on June 21, 2022
This is Sterling and Emmy's story, it is a enemies to lovers/bully romance.

⚠⚠Trigger warnings - mentions of r**e, abuse, ptsd, mental health, bullying, attempted suicide⚠⚠

The story is told in duel POV, Sterling and Emmy.

Emmy was constantly abused by her stepbrother, Rob (Sterling's best friend) and when she finally stood up and said something, nobody believed her, not even her mother and everyone ends up believing Rob over her. She eventually gets accepted into college 5 states away, a new start for her... that is until she finds Sterling there who is the TA in one of her classes.

Sterling is angry with Emmy as he believed Rob, it is his best friend after all, and Rob put some pressure on Sterling to force Emmy to admit she lied about everything and destroy her so he could have a promotion. Sterling is a jackass to her at first, makes a few things difficult for Emmy etc, but Emmy does well to stand up for herself to Sterling.

We also get side characters Gabe & Zach, Stella and a few mentions of Samson, loved them!! Stella and Samson have their own book too. I love how protective Gabe is of Emmy and Zach understood Emmy when he didn't need to ask her about things, he just knew her thoughts.

I don't want to give too much away about the book but worth the read, but always keep in mind the trigger warnings.
